"To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;

19 Minutes Left To Mourn

I've allowed myself one official day of mourning for the Patriots Super Bowl defeat, and since I only have 17 minutes left, I thought I'd pour it out into my blog. Oh yes, there will be other Super Bowls...but other chances at a PERFECT SEASON, doubtful. Imagine the tears that fled my face this morning when I stopped at Dunkin Donuts (I know, I know, but I am NOT a Starbucks fan!) for my morning coffee, only to see the newspapers rubbing in the sheer heartache. The toughest one had to be the Boston Herald, covered with a gorgeous picture of New England's Golden Boy (in case you're living under a rock, that would be Mr. Tom Brady aka Miss Cupcake's Baby Daddy wannabe) with a headline that read GIANT LETDOWN. Ouch. That hurt. I'm not gonna lie, I shed some tears right then and there.

What makes it even harder is the fact that my 6 year old Son is a HUGE fan of the Manning family. HUGE. Peyton is his all-time #1 BFF, but Eli runs a close second these days. Being the smart-ass that I am, I told him that if the Giants won, I'd buy him an Eli jersey. Huh, that will be fun going to the register and purchasing a GIANTS jersey...good one Mom.

And damn those Manning boys, just damn them for all of the wonderful things that they have done for the sport of Football both on and off the field. And damn Peyton and Eli , for this moment because once again today, there were tears...
