Wad Up G's...

So, I haven't really had the time or energy to post during the last few days, but I knew it was time to post when my Mom called me this morning and instead of greeting me with a 'hello,' she proclaimed 'YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR BLOG!' So peeps, here I am.

Well let me start with the new baby...

Yup, yup...I made it up to the dealership without going to jail for driving the highly illegal Bird...and picked up my new baby. She's a Ford Escape and I love her. I was going to take suggestions on what to name her, but Heidi informed me that there was NO decision to be made, that the baby would be named 'Big Star.' So there it is folks, the Big Star. And 1st thing yesterday morning I went right to the DMV to register and get my plates...and can I get a guess on what they say? Ding, ding, ding...they say BIGSTAR. I know, I know...roll your eyes, laugh a little...but it's quite fitting and very cute. And I was reading someone's blog the other day about vanity plates and how cheesy they are...oops!

After we were done at the dealership, the kids and I headed to my Dad's house for the evening. I hadn't seen him in months since he was in FL for the Winter and it was great to spend time with him and my Step-mom. The kids had a blast too, and I know that my Dad and Debbie enjoyed spending the time with them. We took the kids to the local playground, went out for pizza, and then settled in at my Dad's house for the evening.

The next morning we headed to their lake house, but that was after making a stop at the local bakery...yum-meee! The day at the lake house was very relaxing...we chatted, played games, had a cookout, and the kids played in the hot tub. The day was winding down, and the kids and I and the Big Star headed out on our 2 1/2 hour drive home...only I missed my turn, so it turned into a 3 1/2 hour drive (Sadly, the Big Star doesn't have a navigation system!)...but that's ok, it gave me and Big Star more bonding time. Now back to the lake house for a second...my Step-mom has this lake house that she's told me time and time again that I'm more than welcome to use for a girls getaway weekend! It's a 3 bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom, porch, hot tub, complete with kayaks and jet ski's house that they call 'camp'...but it's actually a lake house. So I'm trying to arrange a girls weekend as we speak...because what could be better than that? A free vacation!!

And then I return home to an e-mail from the ex-husband...and I normally don't talk about him on here, but good lawd...'I miss you...I have things that I want to talk to you about.' Seriously, there's nothing that would make me happier than for him to step up and be a good Dad and be a positive influence for the kids...and yes, I'd actually like to have a friendly relationship with him so that we can do fun things with the kids together and all that good stuff. But like I said...GOOD LAWD!!...and that's all that I'm going to say about that!

Oh and one last thing before I go...so now that I have a car payment and my insurance has doubled (cuz who knew that insuring a new car would be lots more than the Bird??) I really need to limit my spending. Really. So I'm determined to do that, and even the shop-a-holic in me has agreed to make the sacrifice...but then today I had to go to the mall to buy a Birthday present for Matty. I searched and searched for a video game that he wants and finally found a copy at the local, smelly, dirty video game swap store. Anyways, on my way to this store, I happened to pass the Sports Memorabilia store and they had a 'Big Papi' figure that I knew Ryan would die for. So I had to buy it and then, well you can't just buy a toy for one of your kids and not the other. So I headed to the Disney Store to find something for Emily and got this great Tinkerbell puzzle. Awesome. And as I'm headed to the checkout, THERE IT WAS...(two things to keep in mind - my bedroom is a tropical them, very cute, but very mature tropical theme - and I love Disney cause I did my college internship at Walt Disney World and I also have many fond family vacation memories there)...so yes, there it was...a giant stuffed Minnie Mouse dressed up as a hula girl. And holy shit, there's a matching Mickey Mouse! Cause, you know, every 28-year old mother of two who's trying to pinch pennies definitely needs a giant stuffed Minne & Mickey!

Oh wait, there's something else...Wheel of Fortune is auditioning here in two weeks! I love Wheel of Fortune and I'm insanely good at it...so this is super-exciting!! I actually have to work the day that they're here...but come on, it's THE WHEEL!! I'll keep you updated...wish me luck!

Peace out homies ~ have a great weekend!

YOU HAVE TO GO AUDITION FOR THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE. YOU MUST YOU MUST YOU MUST!!! Seriously, go into work an extra hour early all week so you can leave early cause YOU WILL WIN. I've never met anyone else who can spew out the answer to a game show quite like you can with the wheel.

When is our vacation? Can we go next weekend?

you should get dad to go to the auditon too, and although you are penny pinchin' you need to splurge a little next weekend & meet me for lunch w/ the kids, it's all I want for my b-day! I miss them terribly, love the car-have fun w/ it :)
